Ready, Set, Read Summer Reading Challenge at Lincoln Central Library

This summer, children aged 4-11 can join a superstar team and their marvellous mascots and get involved in our free Summer Reading Challenge themed around the power of play, sport, games and physical activity.

Children can sign up from the 8th July and by reading 6 books over the summer will receive small prizes along the way and a certificate and medal for completing the challenge. Younger siblings aged under 4 can also get involved by taking part in a special Mini Challenge. 

Alongside the Challenge we will be running free weekly children’s activities, as detailed below, all linked to the themes of sport and games, so get Ready, Set, Read and join us for a summer of fun and games.

Something Fishy going on, Wednesday 23rd August, 11.30am-12.30pm.
Make your own scuba mask & flippers and create an under the sea shoebox diorama. No booking required.

Design a Trophy, Wednesday 30th August, 11.30am-1.30pm. Indoor and outdoor sports and games. No booking required.

Celebration Event, Saturday 16th September, 11.00am-12.00pm. Join us to celebrate completing the Summer Reading Challenge.

Treasure Hunt, 8th July-9th September, Will you be able to spot the Ready, Set Team and their mascots hidden around the Library? Drop in and seek them out and, as you find them, mark them down on your Treasure Hunt entry form.
