Louth is best known as a traditional market town. Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the Cornmarket comes alive from 10am to 4pm as stalls fill the square with plants, crafts, food and drink, clothing, and more.

In addition to the regular markets, special themed events are occasionally held in the Cornmarket, sometimes extending along Mercer Row and part of Eastgate. These include festive Christmas markets and community celebration markets, often taking place on Sundays. They don’t follow a set schedule and are advertised individually. Many combine elements of a fair and a public concert, featuring local craftspeople, charities, and stallholders not seen at the regular markets.

Throughout 2025, Louth Food Friday will be held on the second Friday of each month, while the Louth Farmers’ Market takes place on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Both are organised by East Lindsey District Council.

Louth also hosts an indoor market open every weekday and Saturday, with entrances from New Street and the Cornmarket.

Meanwhile, the Louth Livestock Market - also known as the Cattle Market - runs every Thursday on London Road, with an additional entrance via Linden Walk. Operated by Masons Chartered Surveyors on behalf of East Lindsey District Council, it remains the last working livestock market in Lincolnshire.
