Lincolnshire Limewoods National Nature Reserve

College & Thistle Storr Woods

The Lincolnshire Limewoods is Britain's greatest concentration of woods, found in a 60 square mile area of rural Lincolnshire. The vast area of woodland is located between Bardney, Wragby and Woodhall Spa. It is a beautiful area with 9 separate woodlands and various pathways to explore. The woods are rich in flora and fauna and a range of habitats for wildlife.

There are various starting points where you can park off road, for example, College and Thistle Storr Woods, near Apley. The paths criss-cross through the woodland, with a mixture of wide grassy and woodland paths. Some of the main woodland paths are pushchair friendly, though more grassy areas would require an all terrain buggy.

Top tip: Pin the location of where your car is parked as we found 4G didn't work in the woods, and it can be easy to become disorientated within the forest.
