Walled Garden Baumber is an innovative and exciting garden, full of hidden surprises and vastly different from the traditional kitchen garden that it once was. It is owned by designer and photographer, Sonia and David Elton, who live in the former head gardeners cottage, with their family.
The Eltons took on the project in 2006 when the house and gardens were derelict.
In 2016 the family decided to open the gates to the public on Friday afternoons to see if anyone wanted to come and have a look. They were overwhelmed by the amount of visitors and the positive comments that were made. By May 2017 the former potting shed had become a lovely tea room, a plant sales area was developed and a series of courses and events were added to the calendar.
During August and September 2020:
- Light refreshments available for take away service from the tea room. These can be consumed in the gardens.
- Thursday to Sunday we will be serving sandwiches made with locally sourced produce and a selection of homemade cakes available to eat in or take away.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the garden, but must be kept on leads.
Children must to be supervised at all times as WGB is a work in progress, and there is deep open water on site.
There is disabled access to the tearoom, toilet facility and some areas of the garden.
Entry to the garden is free.
The Walled Garden is located appprox 1 mile west of Baumber (going towards Lincoln) off the A158.
Look for our green sign on the long straight. This marks our turning.
PLEASE NOTE: there is no access from the B1225.
